Huayuan Chinese Academy (HYCA) is the first after-school Chinese educational institution in the greater Washington DC metro area. HYCA was created as a place for children to learn Chinese language and culture.

Our mission is to prepare students to become citizens of the world. Our after-school program is not simply a language and culture experience. Our teachers and staffs strive to build and implement our program as a place to nourish, motivate and inspire students.

We offer a daily immersion after-school program to help students build solid Chinese fundamentals and ensure long-term memory. We also offer a three-weeks summer camp to students with limited Chinese language skills.
